A Memior in Song

Just a little spot for my poems and my songs

Location: Branford, CT, United States

I write, I dream, I paint, I explore, I hope, I love. I've been told that I live my life without boundaries. I wish on falling stars. I belive in the fight for empowerment of those that feel hopeless, that hoplessness breeds helplessness and empowerment is the only cure. I belive in life and exhaust myself in living it. I believe a difference can be made and am trying to make it.

A Poet's Plea

The lonely poet sits and waits-
challenging the past and tempting fate-
blurring lines between white and gray-
does he intrigue you?

The silent orphan cries without sound-
both her parents underground-
sitting, waiting to be found-
do you hear her?

The single mother works all night-
just to keep her kids alive-
selling all she has under a skirt so tight-
do you blame her?

The children shiver in the rain-
the hooker sells herself in vain-
the homeless poet singing the same-
they've said it before and will say it again-
do you see this?

Can you see the world you live in-
do you think you're even livin'-
do you see them-
or do you just look away?

The poet called once for peace and love-
the skies grew black with bloodied doves-
so he wept silently into his ink
for all those following

He stabbed his quill into his heart
rather than watch his world fall apart
And you
what will you do?
