A Memior in Song

Just a little spot for my poems and my songs

I write, I dream, I paint, I explore, I hope, I love. I've been told that I live my life without boundaries. I wish on falling stars. I belive in the fight for empowerment of those that feel hopeless, that hoplessness breeds helplessness and empowerment is the only cure. I belive in life and exhaust myself in living it. I believe a difference can be made and am trying to make it.

Racing Sunset

This is the first song written jointly by my friend Rachel, a bottle of wine, and myself. We call ourselves "Meandering" cuz, well, that's pretty much all we ever do together....

Clock ticks on---sun sinks lower
Every labored breath a chore
On my way, driving faster
speeding towards that twilit shore

Sometimes it just burns my eyes
The sun sets not to rise

Chorus:
And my life passes by
Every day the same fight
Every step towards the horizon
Sun sinks deeper out of sight

Sunset glow ever golden
Ever so untouchable
Live my whole life never knowing
only half just can't be whole

Chorus

Sunset sinking in the ocean
Always just beyond my reach
And the lies I've been believing
Are the truths they cannot teach

Yeah, Yeah sometimes it just hurts my eyes
watching as the sun dies

Chorus
